ULTRAMAN RETSUDEN, the 26th entry in the series, and the newest,was produced as a 45th anniversary of the Ultraman enterprise. Scheduled for three seasons of 13 episodes each, it began in July 2011 and will end at the end of this month, April 2012.
Designed as a biography show, it features every Ultra Brother/hero to date and serves to tell the entire history of Ultraman utilizing footage from the previous shows interspersed with newly shot footage and storylines. Newest Ultra hero, ULTRAMAN ZERO, acts as a host/narrator/guide as he recounts stories both old and new.
The series also serves a companion/lead in to the upcoming feature film ULTRAMAN SAGA, which is slated to be released later this year.
